Smartschool Education Limited Extends Support to Blind Girls Hostel Run by Help Bright Foundation

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive education, Smartschool Education Limited recently conducted a CSR activity at the Blind Girls Hostel, run by the Help Bright Foundation in New Delhi. This initiative was a part of Smartschool’s larger CSR vision of empowering lives through education and technology, ensuring that no learner is left behind due to circumstances beyond their control.

 

The Blind Girls Hostel, managed by Help Bright Foundation, has been a beacon of hope for visually impaired girls for more than a decade. Established around 11 years ago in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area, the hostel was founded by Mr. Vikas Chauhan and Mr. Mangal Rathore with a mission to support blind girls who aspire to study, work, and build a dignified life for themselves. What started as a small initiative to help a few girls has now grown into a full-fledged home and learning space for many young women who refuse to let their disability define them.

 

The foundation provides its residents with not just shelter, but also everything they need to live and grow comfortably — from meals and clothing to educational materials and personal care essentials. All of this is made possible through the generous support and donations from individuals and socially responsible organizations like Smartschool Education Limited.

 

During the CSR visit, the Smartschool team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Vikas Chauhan, who personally gave them a tour of the hostel. The team visited the hostel’s Vishwas Nagar branch in Shahdara, Delhi, which currently houses around 50 blind girls across four floors, with three rooms on each floor. Some of these girls are pursuing their school education, while others are preparing for competitive exams and job opportunities. Their dedication and optimism left a deep impact on the Smartschool team.

 

 

Interacting with the girls, the team was inspired by their determination and confidence. Despite their visual challenges, each of them spoke passionately about their dreams and aspirations. Many shared their goals of becoming teachers, officers, and professionals in various fields. Their stories served as a reminder that disability does not define one’s capabilities—attitude and perseverance do.

 

Mr. Vikas Chauhan, who currently manages the entire hostel operation, shared insights about the journey and challenges faced in sustaining the initiative. His humble and compassionate nature deeply touched the Smartschool team. The way he treats every girl at the hostel like his own family reflects his genuine commitment to making a difference in their lives.

 

Moved by the experience, Smartschool Education Limited made a donation to support the hostel’s ongoing efforts in providing education and essential facilities to the girls. The contribution reflects Smartschool’s broader mission to uplift underprivileged sections of society through meaningful actions.
