Choose the 4K model (3840 × 2160, 12× optical zoom, 8.51 MP sensor) for the sharpest picture, or the Full HD model (1080P, 10× optical zoom, USB UVC video) for everyday classrooms and meetings.
Both cameras pan ±170° and tilt −30° to +90°, and store 255 presets with 0.1° accuracy. The 4K model pans at 2.7°–35.7°/s; the Full HD model at up to 47°/s.
Both models are rated to 0.5 Lux minimum illumination with a signal-to-noise ratio of 55 dB or better. The Full HD model adds 2D and 3D digital noise reduction and backlight compensation.
Made for hybrid classrooms, lecture recording, meetings and live streams. SNL’s studio setups list a PTZ camera among their components — see the Smart Class Studio. Not sure which model fits? Book a demo and the SNL team will help you choose.
PTZ stands for pan, tilt and zoom. A PTZ camera turns left and right, tilts up and down and zooms its lens, so one camera can cover a whole room and be aimed at a speaker, a whiteboard or an audience.
A fixed camera captures a single angle. A PTZ camera moves and zooms to cover many angles and can store positions as presets, so one camera can do the work of several.
The SNL PTZ Camera is a pan-tilt-zoom camera sold in two models: the SNL 4K PTZ Camera with a 12× optical zoom and the SNL Full HD PTZ Camera with a 10× optical zoom. Both pan ±170°, tilt −30° to +90° and store 255 presets.
Two: the SNL 4K PTZ Camera (4K 3840 × 2160, 12× optical zoom, 8.51 MP sensor) and the SNL Full HD PTZ Camera (1080P, 10× optical zoom, 2.07 MP sensor). The model picker above shows each one, and the product information table lists every specification.
It is made for classrooms, lecture recording, hybrid meetings, studios and live streams: anywhere one camera needs to cover a room or follow a presenter. SNL’s studio setups, such as the Smart Class Studio, list a PTZ camera among their components.
Yes. A PTZ camera can be aimed at the teacher, the board or the class from one spot, with presets to jump between those shots, so a lesson can be recorded or streamed without moving the camera by hand. The SNL PTZ Camera stores 255 presets.
Yes. The Full HD model connects over USB as a UVC video device, the standard class used by webcams, and the 4K model can stream at up to 3840 × 2160. The specification sheet does not name the meeting or streaming apps each model has been tested with, so get in touch if you need one confirmed.
The specifications on this page do not include auto-tracking, gesture control or any other AI feature, so please do not assume them. What is listed is pan, tilt, zoom, 255 presets and, on the Full HD model, VISCA, Pelco-D and Pelco-P control. If auto-tracking matters for your room, get in touch before you buy.
Choose the 4K model for the sharpest picture, a 12× zoom and more ways to power it (DC 12V, USB Type-C or PoE). Choose the Full HD model if 1080P is enough and you want a 10× zoom, a USB connection that works as a UVC webcam and RS232 control with VISCA, Pelco-D or Pelco-P.
Resolution and zoom: 4K (3840 × 2160) with a 12× zoom against Full HD (up to 1080P) with a 10× zoom. The 4K model has an 8.51 MP, 1/2.5-inch sensor and the Full HD model a 2.07 MP, 1/2.8-inch sensor. They also differ in field of view, pan speed, power options and size; the product information table lists every difference.
The range and presets are the same: both pan ±170°, tilt −30° to +90°, store 255 presets and are accurate to 0.1°. Speeds differ: pan is 2.7°–35.7°/s on the 4K model and 2.7°–47°/s on the Full HD model, and tilt is 2.7°–31.5°/s against 3.4°–30°/s.
It depends on how the picture will be used. A 4K picture holds more detail when a lesson is shown on a large display or zoomed into, and the 4K model can also stream at 1920 × 1080 and 1280 × 720. If you record and show lessons at 1080P anyway, the Full HD model may be enough. Book a demo to compare the two side by side.
Field of view is what matters in a small room. The 4K model sees 71° horizontally at its widest and the Full HD model 58.5°, so from the same spot the 4K model shows more of the room.
Pick the model that matches the resolution you record and show at: Full HD for 1080P lessons and lecture capture, 4K if you record or display in 4K. Both give the same pan, tilt and 255 presets. Not sure? Book a demo or get in touch and describe your room.
Match the camera to how the recording will be used. Full HD (1080P) suits most lecture recordings and video calls. The 4K model is for when you want extra detail or plan to crop in on the picture afterwards, and it can also output 1080P and 720P.
Book a demo or get in touch and tell the SNL team the size of the room, how far the camera will be from the presenter, how you will connect it and whether you record or stream. They will help you pick between the 4K and Full HD models.
3840 × 2160 (4K) from a 1/2.5-inch, 8.51 MP CMOS sensor. It can also stream at 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720 and other resolutions.
The specification sheet lists 1080P, 720P, 540P, 480P, 360P and 240P, from a 1/2.8-inch, 2.07 MP progressive CMOS sensor.
The 4K model lists 1–25 fps on 50 Hz and 1–30 fps on 60 Hz. For the Full HD model, the sheet lists H.264 and MJPEG up to 1080P30, that is, up to 30 frames per second at 1080P.
The Full HD model lists YUY2, H.264 and MJPEG, with H.264 AVC and MJPEG each up to 1080P30. The sheet does not list compression for the 4K model; it lists a video bit rate of 32 kbps to 20480 kbps.
Both models are rated at 0.5 Lux minimum illumination (F1.8, AGC on) with a signal-to-noise ratio of 55 dB or better. The Full HD model also lists 2D and 3D digital noise reduction.
Both models list Auto, Indoor, Outdoor, One Push, Manual and VAR white-balance modes, and a shutter range of 1/30 s to 1/10000 s.
The Full HD model lists backlight compensation as supported. The sheet leaves that row blank for the 4K model, so get in touch if you need it confirmed for the 4K camera.
The Full HD model lists both image flip and image freeze as supported. The sheet leaves those rows blank for the 4K model.
12× on the 4K model and 10× on the Full HD model. Optical zoom uses the lens itself, so the picture stays sharp as it zooms in, unlike digital zoom, which crops the image.
The 4K model has a 12× lens with f = 4.4 mm to 52.8 mm and an aperture of F1.8 to F2.6. The Full HD model has a 10× lens with f = 4.7 mm to 46.3 mm and an aperture of F1.8 to F2.8.
The 4K model: 71° to 8.2° horizontal and 42.7° to 4.5° vertical. The Full HD model: 58.5° to 6.5° horizontal and 35.1° to 3.6° vertical. The larger figure is the lens at its widest, the smaller one fully zoomed in.
The 4K model: 71° horizontally at its widest against 58.5° on the Full HD model.
Fully zoomed in, the Full HD model’s horizontal view is 6.5° and the 4K model’s is 8.2°. The 4K model has the higher zoom ratio (12× against 10×) and a higher-resolution sensor, so it keeps more detail in a tight frame.
Yes for picture quality. Optical zoom changes the lens, so it magnifies the real image; digital zoom crops the picture and enlarges it, which loses detail. Both SNL PTZ models specify an optical zoom.
Optical zoom is what makes that possible, and the 4K model’s higher-resolution sensor keeps more detail in a tight frame. How far it works depends on your room, lighting and the size of the writing, so book a demo and see it in a space like yours.
Both models pan ±170°, a 340° sweep, and tilt from −30° to +90°.
The 4K model pans at 2.7°–35.7°/s and tilts at 2.7°–31.5°/s. The Full HD model pans at 2.7°–47°/s and tilts at 3.4°–30°/s.
A preset stores a camera position, including its pan, tilt and zoom, so the camera can return to it at once. Both models store 255 preset positions.
The sheet lists a preset accuracy of 0.1° on both models, so the camera returns to a saved shot to within 0.1°.
Save one preset for the teacher, one for the board and one for the class, then switch between them as the lesson changes. Both models can store up to 255.
The camera sweeps 170° to each side of straight ahead, 340° in total, which leaves a 20° gap directly behind it. Place it with the room in front of it, for example at the front of a classroom or on a wall or corner.
The specification sheet does not list mounting hardware or brackets, so get in touch with your mounting plan (table, wall or ceiling) and the team will confirm what is supplied. The Full HD model does list image flip as supported.
It has one USB 2.0 Type-B port and outputs video as a UVC 1.1 device, the class webcams use. UVC PTZ control is listed as supported, so compatible software can pan, tilt and zoom it over USB.
Windows 8 and above, macOS 10.5 and above, Linux 2.4.6 and above, and Android (which needs UVC-related drivers). Windows 7 works with UVC 1.1 only.
The 4K specification sheet lists its power inputs (DC 12V, USB Type-C 5V and PoE) but leaves its video and control rows blank. The rear-view photo in the 4K gallery above shows labelled NET, HDMI, RS232, USB3.0, LINE IN and DC 12V connectors. Get in touch for the confirmed connection list for your setup.
The Full HD model has an RS232 input (8-pin Mini DIN, up to 30 m) that takes VISCA, Pelco-D and Pelco-P commands, plus UVC PTZ control over USB. The 4K sheet does not list a control interface, though its rear-view photo shows an RS232 connector.
They are common control protocols that camera controllers and software use to send pan, tilt, zoom and preset commands to a PTZ camera. The Full HD model lists all three over RS232.
The Full HD model lists a maximum RS232 distance of 30 m.
Software that accepts a UVC (webcam) video source can use the Full HD model over USB. The sheet does not name specific apps that have been tested, and it does not list a USB row for the 4K model, so get in touch to confirm your software before you buy.
The Full HD model is a UVC 1.1 device, so it is built to use the standard video driver already in the operating system. The exception the sheet lists is Android, which needs UVC-related drivers.
The 4K model takes a JEITA-type DC 12V input, USB Type-C (5V) or PoE (802.3af). The Full HD model takes a JEITA-type DC 12V input.
The 4K model draws 18 W at most, at up to 1.0 A on 12V or 1.5 A on 5V. The Full HD model draws 12 W at most, at up to 1 A on 12V.
Yes. It lists PoE (802.3af) as a power input, so a PoE switch or injector can power it over a network cable. The sheet does not describe what else travels over that cable, so confirm your network setup with the team.
The sheet lists a DC 12V input only for the Full HD model, so plan for a 12V supply.
The 4K model operates from 0 °C to 40 °C and the Full HD model from −10 °C to 40 °C. Both can be stored from −40 °C to 60 °C.
The 4K model measures 144 × 144 × 173.4 mm (W × D × H) and weighs 1.41 kg. The Full HD model measures 141.3 × 153 × 163.6 mm and weighs 1.153 kg.
The sheet lists a no-failure time of more than 30,000 hours for the Full HD model and leaves that row blank for the 4K model.
The best classroom recording camera is one you can aim and reframe without touching it. A PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera does that: it pans ±170° and tilts −30° to +90° across the room, zooms optically (12× on the 4K model, 10× on the Full HD model) from where it is fixed, and recalls any of 255 saved shots, such as the teacher, the board and the class, at the press of a button. The SNL PTZ Camera comes in 4K and Full HD; book a demo to see it frame a classroom.
For lectures and online classes the model that is listed with a USB connection that works as a UVC webcam is the Full HD one, so it plugs into a laptop or an All-in-One PC and appears as a camera in video-call and recording software. The 4K model suits recordings where you want extra detail. The sheet leaves the 4K model's USB and control rows blank, so get in touch to confirm how it connects to your setup.
Yes. The camera can stream at up to 3840 × 2160 (4K model) or 1920 × 1080, and the Full HD model also works as a webcam over USB, so remote students can watch the teacher and the board live. SNL pairs it with an Interactive Flat Panel and an All-in-One PC in its Hybrid Studio and Smart Class Studio setups.
A webcam looks one way with a wide fixed lens and digital zoom that loses detail. A CCTV camera is built to record a space for security, not to frame a speaker. A PTZ camera is controlled remotely: it turns, tilts and zooms optically, so the picture stays sharp when it zooms in, and saved presets let one operator, or the teacher, switch between shots.
The specification sheet does not list mounting options or accessories, so this page makes no claim about ceiling or wall mounts. Tell the SNL team how the room is laid out and how far the camera will be from the teacher and the board when you get in touch, and they will advise how to fit it.
For a fixed room that streams or records often, a PTZ camera is usually the simpler tool: it is remote-controlled, powered continuously, and one person can run it. A DSLR can give a shallower, more cinematic look but needs someone behind it, and many models limit recording time. Choose the PTZ camera for classrooms, conferences and regular live streams.
Yes. Saved presets let you cut between a host and a guest without a camera operator, and the 4K model records the extra detail that YouTube viewers on large screens notice. SNL's Podcast and YouTube studio setups use PTZ cameras for exactly this.
Yes. SNL supplies schools, studios and offices across India and delivers and installs nationwide. The page lists no delivery or installation terms for the PTZ camera itself, so get in touch to confirm the lead time and installation for your location.
The page does not publish a price. Use the Get a Quote button at the top, or get in touch, and tell the team which model and how many you need.
Yes. Book a demo and the SNL team will show you the PTZ camera and help you choose between the 4K and Full HD models.
The specification sheet does not state a warranty term for the PTZ camera, so this page does not quote one. Get in touch and ask the team for the warranty on the model you want.
The sheet does not list the in-box contents, such as the power supply, cables, remote or mount. Get in touch and the team will confirm what ships with the model you choose.
The Refund & Return Policy sets out dispatch, delivery and installation terms for interactive flat panels and All-in-One PCs; it does not cover PTZ cameras. Get in touch for the delivery and installation arrangements for your order.
